As I walk around campus
I see so much to choose from
Sports, clubs, frats, and labs
Just to name some
The activities fair
Fills the room to the end
So many paths to choose
Endless options for new friends
Sign me up
Let’s do it all!
I’ve got time, right?
I’m here through fall
So we fill up our lives
It even feels like a thrill
But where is there space
To know God and be still
Not to mention
All the outside voices
Parents to please
Sometimes leave us few choices
When I see the mess of stress
I must confess
It seems like a game
Where only we are to blame
What is the point
Of this 4 year dash
Is it resume building
Or seeking out hash
Is it about getting grades
Or keeping off those 15 pounds
Finding friends who love
Or a hot date to rebound
This swirl of opportunity
Leaves many still with thirst
Some are asking is there more
To the life that I’m immersed
What’s the answer?
Should I transfer?
Why am I here?
Is there more than beer?
Meanwhile Jesus is walking
Right by Albright College
Offering something way bigger
Than a major filled with knowledge
He is calling us now
To come and see
Are you ready
To join on the journey
Jesus heals, teaches
Even changes our names
Restores our purpose in life
It’s the opposite of lame
Offering the best wine
At just the right time
He can transform your life
Turn you around on a dime
There is reason to hope
On this campus right here
The good news is
The Kingdom of God is near
We worship together
Jesus who died
He rescued our lives
He is our guide
Jesus is better than life
We can find on our own
We praise you God
Be number 1 on our throne
This God who I know
Is calling us to pray
To let go of control
Trust Him with our resume
Remember, Logos is
Gathered to scatter
God mission together
It cuts through the clatter
He is gathering us here
To worship and be devout
Not so we huddle together
But so we are sent OUT
Amen!
wow, that's awesome Danny
