This year at Alvernia, I had the privilege of working with a first year student named Cristina, (AKA CriStylin’) who is a gifted leader. Cristina entered into college actively asking how she could serve others and share her faith in Jesus on campus. She played a central role in gathering and leading other students who were a part of the Friday commuter small group. Just recently at camp, Cristina was blown away by Jesus yet again as she studied the gospel of Mark. She chose to respond in rap form to Him! Enjoy!
Baptizes with the Holy Spirit
Healed many, he came to win it
From casting out a legion to calming the wind
My Jesus came to redeem those who have sinned
The kingdom of God is near
Jesus, the real king, is who to fear
That message was to be proclaimed
To all the unclean, to all the ashamed
He healed a woman, he healed a leper
He had patience with the apostle’s temper
John the Baptist, Elijah, a prohet?
C’mon, in the midst of storms only Jesus could top it
He broke tradition, He has a vision
To follow this man is my decision
He is stronger than the strong man
He ties up whatever I can’t
This is the good news
And to drop my nets I choose
Jesus, be the center of my life
Even if you have to touch my eyes, more than one time
