Gathering to be Scattered

Hoberman Sphere
Expand and Contract. Expand and Contract. Move out and move in. Move out and move in. Apart and Together. Apart and Together. This amazing little ball contracts to 9 inches and expands to 30 inches in diameter! Wow! (check out the video below too) God desires for his people to function like this innovative engineering masterpiece. Just like this ball, students are called to come together at times, and go out onto campus at times. Currently, our group at Alvernia has become a tight-knit bunch. Albright’s fellowship desires to care deeply for each other. God is growing authentic community, and we are grateful!  But, we recognize that we can’t stop here.

Life with Jesus is just too good for that. Jesus overcame death to bring new life to ALL of us, not just those people that we like to hang out with on campus. Not just the people we are comfortable with. We desire to reach out to all corners of campus so that all would have an invitation to ‘come and see’ who Jesus is (and hopefully fall in love with him like we have!).

So we press on. We embrace the mission of God’s heart for people from all walks of life on campus. Just like the Hoberman ball, our community is called to come together at times, and to expand our influence to others on campus at other times in HUGE ways. Please join us in prayer for student leaders to seek God in times of gathering together and in times of scattering on campus.

  1. I will be praying and am excited about what God is going to do at Alvernia AND Albright as students learn to be the gathered AND scattered body of Christ going about His mission. Very cool.
